A Gap We Wanted to Fill
Nepali is spoken by tens of millions of people, yet it has historically been one of the harder languages to find genuinely good learning resources for online — overshadowed by the much larger catalogs built for languages like Spanish, French, or Mandarin. Travelers heading to Nepal, members of the Nepali diaspora wanting to reconnect with the language, and learners drawn to Nepal's culture and the Himalayas have all faced the same problem: scattered phrasebooks, outdated forum posts, and apps that treat Nepali as an afterthought.
BolNepali exists to close that gap — a single, structured place to actually learn Nepali properly, prepare for the real exams and pathways that exist for it, plan a trip with confidence, and find genuine information about studying or working in or beyond Nepal.
What We Believe About Learning a Language
We believe real progress comes from structure, not gimmicks — a clear path through pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and conversation, built on content that is accurate and genuinely useful rather than padded out to look comprehensive. Every guide on this site is written to be read end to end and actually used, not skimmed once and forgotten.
We also believe in being honest about what we don't know. Where a topic involves real institutions, exams, or legal requirements — like the Australian pathways for studying Nepali, or visa processes — we research it directly from primary sources and say plainly when something needs to be confirmed directly with the relevant authority, rather than presenting guesses as settled fact.
Who BolNepali Is For
This site is built for a few overlapping groups: travelers preparing for a trip to Nepal who want more than a phrasebook; members of the Nepali diaspora, especially in Australia, wanting to maintain or rebuild their connection to the language; students and professionals navigating study or work pathways either into Nepal or abroad; and anyone, anywhere, who is simply curious about Nepali and wants a real place to start.
Why You Can Trust What's Here
We're upfront that BolNepali is an independent project, not a government body or an official examination authority. Where we cover real institutions and programs — SACE Nepali Continuers, visa categories, university pathways — we link to and encourage you to verify directly with the official source, because requirements change and our role is to point you in the right direction clearly, not to be the final word on anything official.
If you ever spot something inaccurate or out of date, we want to know — reach out through our Contact page and we'll correct it.
